There are many safe drivers on North Carolina roads. These drivers avoid distractions in their vehicles, obey the speed limit and, overall, drive defensively. Unfortunately, even the safest of drivers are sometimes unable to avoid the negligent actions of others with whom they may come into contact while traveling. Many details regarding a recent fatal car crash are unclear.

The incident happened on a day in November. According to reports, a three-car accident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. One of the vehicles reportedly burst into flames following the initial collision.

Two people were killed in the accident. One of the deceased victims was a college football player who had returned to his hometown to watch the playoff game of his former high school. Though police have not released the identity of the victims, the college the victim attended announced his passing on social media. Many of the details of the accident are unclear, including whether other injuries were reported in the incident.

The unexpected loss of a family member is never easy. Unfortunately, it can also leave family members facing both an emotional and financial burden due to funeral expenses. To help cope with the latter, many who have lost a loved one in North Carolina in a fatal car crash caused by another person’s negligence choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against the parties deemed responsible. Though it will likely do little to lessen their grief, a successfully presented case could result in a monetary award that will allow these victims to focus on their recovery rather than their financial responsibilities.
