Harnett County man facing manslaughter charges

On Behalf of | May 19, 2020 | Criminal Defense

When a crime occurs in the Lillington area families can be desperate for answers as to what happened to their loved one. This is understandable in such an emotionally traumatic time. Sometimes these families believe their loved one died because of another person’s negligence. This may be the case, but it is important that the situation is thoroughly investigated.

According to new reports, in May 2019, deputies responded to a call at the Relax Inn in Dunn where an employee found an unresponsive female on the floor in a room. The 22-year-old woman was declared dead in an apparent drug overdose. Almost a year later a suspect has now been arrested for involuntary manslaughter. Harnett County Sheriff Officials believe the man supplied illegal narcotics to the woman.

If a person finds themselves facing a serious criminal charge, like manslaughter, they may want to speak with an attorney who has experience in criminal defense. A person who has been arrested can be unsure about what his options now are. This is not the time to not take the charges seriously.

A defendant needs an aggressive attorney on his side willing to run a thorough investigation into what really happened and protect their client’s legal rights. There are two sides to every story and taking the time to make sure both are heard is critical.
